My Art! My Inspiration and Philosophy!

My art is inspired by the teachings of my French mentor, during a three-month intensive sabbatical in France.  It was the first time I took the risk to paint large canvases, loose with brush strokes, and to embrace the beauty of the body: faces, heads, landscapes, and beachscapes.

The painting “Turquoise Feather !!” , for example, illustrates how I still apply those same techniques I learned in France, as well as those acquired over 14 years of painting in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA.   Santa Fe is home to many outstanding artists such as Georgia O’Keeffe, Tony Abeyta, and Albert Handell.

Turquoise Feather

France taught me about using mixed media, big canvases and palette knives.  Santa Fe painting taught me about vivid colours, big turquoise skies as well as landscapes using pastels, oils, acrylics and multi-media.

Recently, my inspiration has come from Australia’s flora and fauna, particularly sub-tropical Queensland; the verdant Noosa “hinterland” with  exotic birds and plants, and the palm-tree covered, white sandy beaches with lapping waves of aquamarine water!

Art is my career now, after a professional life as an Internet entrepreneur within business and education.

I love the freedom of expression and of experimentation with colors and shapes for each and every creative endeavor
